3 days to launch

After a week of offroad motorcycling with my brother Steve, it was back home to start working on the barn.
What a weekend, the barn now has new stairs to the loft, a couple new walls and the front wall and man-door have been removed. I jack hammered the concrete slab so I could move the utilities and make room for the new barn door. I reframed the front and built a new 8 foot sliding door so it is easier to get horses in an out of the barn.
We had Steve and Bronwyn out and some friends over for a BBQ/Swim Sat evening. Steve gave me lots of help with the barn stuff which was appreciated, and I know it was driving his allergies nuts.
We are 3 days away from our first holiday abroad, and things couldn't be busier. I have been going hard at the barn getting it in shape for the arrival of Sarah and Joanna's horses at the end of September. I am getting some last minute work stuff finished up, but it seems to be getting busier.
Jo has 2 days of work left until her 1 year leave of absence commences, and she has a ton of stuff to finish up before she goes. Two more days!!
I just wanted to get the blog started and hopefully we will be updating it every couple of days with photos and stories from the road.
Our itinerary is pretty loose, by design, and we have booked ourselves a rental car which we pick up Thursday AM in Paris. We are staying at a small hotel in a residential neighbourhood near the Eiffel Tower for 3 days while we do a little exploring aroud Paris. We are super close to a Metro station as well.
We have a room booked at the Hilton the night before we leave France. That's it! No other plans or reservations, we're just going to play it by ear. Drive around and see France, with opportunities to spend a day or two in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain etc...
